My daughter has been going over a year already. She started when when she was 3.5 years old with Snowplow 1, now she does Snowplow 3 and Nutracker On the Ice. We love their Learn to Skate Program and Junior Blades sessions to practice.
We love teachers and management there, everyone is very nice and helping my daughter when she is alone practicing on the ice.
Yes, I would recommend this place.
Awesome place for kids! They have plenty of kids programs from learn to skate and play to leagues. The staff is friendly and very professional. Audrey is amazing with kids and always helpful with anything you need. I highly recommend this rink!
Me and my family skate here. It’s a nice facility with good people working there. Our boys really enjoy time on the ice.
Location is convenient, ice is maintained decent, and the two staff that often work in the concessions for public skate/ parties are kind and respectful! BUT the staff make this place almost unbearable. There is poor communication between rental and skate shop on availability of walkers/ seals so they often run out leaving adults to either pay a difference or young skaters to be without. Missy in the skate shop is rude and glares at you, when as a paying patron you attempt to provide feedback on concerns or frustrations, and Liberty, one of the skate staff, is blatantly rude and disrespectful, talking about customers under her breathe. Would be more than happy to come here more often if they hire staff that care and are at least cordial not flat out RUDE!
I’ve been to different ice rinks in different parts of country and this one is good one, compared to what I’ve seen. Well maintained, clean, not too crowded and inexpensive!
I was really disappointed by the hockey learn to skate program. It came highly recommended so we were excited to go. When my daughter went through hockey 1 I noticed they did the same 2-3 things every session and the instructors rarely corrected the students when they were doing something incorrectly. Benefit of the doubt, signed her up for hockey 2...they had them doing the same 2-3 things as they did in hockey 1 every session. Still rarely correcting anything. I understand the need to reinforce foundational things, but there was no moving forward. All but one of the instructors seemed like they were just going through the motions and the only good one was with a different class every session. My daughter loves skating and was very excited to get into hockey, but halfway through hockey 2 she said she didn't want to go anymore because the classes made skating not fun.
This place is overall great, except for the customer service. I took my family here this past weekend, and there is a worker named Liberty, who was extremely rude and disrespectful. She glares at people who ask very understanding questions, and seems as she hates working there. I fully understand the immaturity of these teenagers and their insecurities that lead them to act so childish, but she should not be working in customer service if she will be down right rude. I think it’s better for the teenagers to work in the back, where their unkind attitude and selfishness cannot be seen.
Would not recommend. Out of the few places in houston they are the worst. The rink is awful and will likely get you, your children or whomever else is playing there hurt. Also the refs do not care at all about their jobs. They will absolutely put you in a position to sustain and injury. I took many over my 1 season there as did my teammates. Go to memorial, bellerive or even sugar land before this place.
